Galleries makes a grand entrance

InfraRed Capital Partners and Hark Group unveil latest improvements at the Galleries in Bristol

Refurbishment has recently started on the Merchant Street entrance, which will integrate The Galleries seamlessly into Philadelphia Street and the Bristol Shopping Quarter.

Since 2011, a series of multi-million pound initiatives have been successfully implemented to improve the Centre. These include relocating escalators to enhance sight lines and pedestrian flow, new washrooms and disabled facilities, rebranding and renaming the centre, and relocating the food court to create a new food service area on the middle floor.

The Galleries has recently attracted a number of new retailers including international furniture retailer Bo Concept which has moved into a 3,500-sq ft unit on the corner of Merchant Street, and anchor store 99p Stores which occupies a 15,000-sq ft space in the former top floor food court location.

Bristol’s first covered mall, The Galleries welcomes around 11 million shoppers a year with its strong retail offering which includes many of Bristol’s best-loved independent stores alongside major national brands such as Argos, Boots, Laura Ashley, TK Maxx, WH Smith, Waterstones and many more.
