InfraRed signs BoConcept in Bristol

InfraRed Capital Partners and Hark Group have signed Danish furniture retailer BoConcept for The Galleries in Bristol.

BoConcept, which specialises in modern and contemporary furniture and accessories, is to open on 21 December at 23-25 Merchant Street which fronts onto Broadmead.

The single level 3,500 sq ft unit was formerly occupied by toy retailer, The Entertainer.

BoConcept joins a host of new names to open at The Galleries in 2012.

The Galleries is at the midpoint in a multi-million pound programme of investment to broaden its mix of shops and food outlets.

Key improvements include relocating the Food Court to the middle floor and the addition of value brand 99p Stores (occupying 15,000 sq ft on the top floor), outdoor clothing company Trespass and toy retailer Hawkins Bazaar.

Colin Lang, centre manager at The Galleries, said: “We’re delighted that BoConcept will be joining us and wish them every success as they open in time for the busy Christmas period. BoConcept is a global brand and naturally wants to ensure that its stores are situated in high traffic locations, such as the Galleries.

“The new store is a stylish addition to a range of fantastic stores now available to our customers and I think it demonstrates a growing confidence within the industry for city centre shopping destinations.”

In January 2011 the Shopping Centre was purchased by InfraRed Capital Partners Limited for £50m. The name was restored to The Galleries having previously been known as The Mall Bristol. The asset management is undertaken by Hark Group.
