The Executive Board of eleven is responsible for the direction of BCSC. It comprises the Chief Executive, six Officers of BCSC – four members of the Presidential team, Company Secretary and Honorary Treasurer and four members elected by, and from within, the Advisory Panel. Executive Board members are also members of the Advisory Panel.

David Atkins, BCSC President, said:

"With the appointment of John Coyne as CEO in the past few weeks, we are now undertaking a full strategic review of the organisation as we develop a business plan for the next 3 to 5 years that will drive BCSC forward in supporting and representing its membership. Claire and Mark bring invaluable experience and industry insight to that process and are warmly welcomed to the Executive Board at this exciting time for BCSC."

Mark Williams is a Director and Principal of The Hark Group, prior to which he headed DTZ's EMEA Retail Capital Markets and banking teams. A keen supporter of BCSC, Mark chairs the industry-wide Distressed Retail Property Task Force, and sits on the Property Industry Alliance debt committee. He comments:

"Through my work as Chair of the Distressed Retail Property Taskforce and with experience on BCSC committees and on its Advisory Panel, I have seen first-hand the important work done by the BCSC team across research, education, policy and political representation, as well as in drawing our industry together to celebrate success and share knowledge. I am proud to be taking a seat on the Executive Board and look forward to working with fellow members to guide BCSC's business plan moving forward."

Claire Barber has worked in shopping centre asset management for nearly 20 years, having worked at Donaldsons, Capital Shopping Centres, Grosvenor and BAA as Retail Director with responsibility for Heathrow Terminal 5, before taking post at British Land in 2007. She adds:

"BCSC offers a critical collective voice to our industry in an era when retail property is fast evolving. I am therefore delighted to have been elected to feed into and steer our trade body during this period of change, both for BCSC and for our sector as a whole. Retail property is at the heart of every community within the UK and employs thousands of people - this hugely important economic role is something that should be celebrated and developed further and BCSC is at the forefront of that agenda."
